Mother
Mother let me swim within the warm waters of your womb again.
Let me into the dark cavern of love.
Mother I know I must have caused you
much discomfort and much pain
But I came without any plans of my own.
You must have lain endless nights
without winks of sleep
while I slumbered within you, so deep.
You must have patiently held your hips
yet I am sure you had a smile on your lips.
O Mother knowing all this
I still would like to be within within that maternal world of bliss.
”How often, mom, you must have thought “when will be the end of this long wait?”,
mother I got to tell you this
“I too longed to be with you with baited breath.”
And then when you gently delivered me to the world
mamma, I came without the slightest of protests.
You were always concerned
I did not seem like the other infants.
I was your blue -eyed girl with pale brown curls
And soft white skin your child, a part of your kin
I was that little dream that had lain in your eyes
ever since you began to dream your self!
